WEAR BREAKS DELVAL CAREER HITS RECORD IN DOUBLEHEADER LOSS AT CABRINI

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 RADNOR (PA) – Senior shortstop Jackie Wear continued her assault on the Delaware Valley College record books as she became the Aggies' all-time hits leader in a pair of losses at Cabrini College. The Cavaliers took the first game, 4-0, and followed with a 9-1 triumph in the nightcap.

Wear, a two-time all-Freedom Conference selection and the 2012 Freedom Player of the Year, broke an all-time school record for the third time in her standout career when she smacked a double down the left field line in the second inning of the twinbill opener. It upped her hit total to 142 and surpassed the previous mark of 141 set by 1994 graduate and Delaware Valley Hall of Famer Kelly Sciss. The double increased Wear's record total to 43 in that category and she also owns the career mark in stolen bases with 63. Wear's .399 career batting average ranks third in school history.

Wear's two-bagger was one just five hits – two by Wendy Peterson - for the Aggies (3-17) against Cabrini starter Kiley Sharp. Sharp went the full seven innings and walked none while striking out five. Meanwhile the Cavaliers (12-11) picked up a run in the second and three in the third for the 4-0 final. Taylor Gallagher led their offensive attack with two doubles and two RBIs. Whitney Stacey took the loss despite allowing just four runs over six innings.

In the second game, Delaware Valley took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as it loaded the bases with one out and Hannah Robinson drove one in with single up the middle. However, Cabrini came back with four runs in the second and added five more over the next two stanzas for the 9-1 win.

Five different Aggies had one hit in the second game. Magen Majeski pitched three innings and took the loss. Gallagher had the win for the Cavaliers while Steph Diegl and Lindsay Savar knocked in two runs apiece.
