Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College came out strong in its home opener and swept Penn State Brandywine in straight sets (25-12, 25-14, and 25-13).
The Aggies were able to bounce back to .500 (1-1) after dropping its first match yesterday at Cairn University. It was the first game of the new season for the Lions.
Delaware Valley took control of the first set by scoring 16 of the final 20 points behind four kills by
Alyssa Riggins.
Gina Page had four kills of her own and
Destinee Horning added three kills in the rally. The Aggies then pulled away in the second and third sets for the win.
Page and Horning paced Delaware Valley throughout the day with nine and eight total kills respectively. Both stars stepped up on defense as well with Horning notching four blocks on the day while Page had seven digs.
Crystal Ronan had a match-high 26 assists to go along with her three service aces. Riggins finished with six kills and 10 digs.
The Lions were led by Amanda Rasley and her four kills and one block. Miranda Biondi also had a nice day with 13 assists, three service aces, one kill and one block.
