Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DOYLESTOWN (PA) – On the same day they learned that they made the all-Freedom Conference team, juniors Whitney Stacey and Jackie Wear helped Delaware Valley College end the 2013 season on a high note with a pair of non-conference victories over Cairn University, 8-0 and 10-1. Both games were called after five innings due to the eight-run mercy rule.

The Aggies finished the '13 campaign with an 11-25 record while the two losses brought the Highlanders' final record to 6-31.

Stacey hit her first career home run at the plate and picked up a pair of victories on the mound, including a one-hit shutout in the opener. Wear went a combined 3-for-4 with a double, two home runs, four runs scored and six RBIs.

It was also the final games in the collegiate careers of Delaware Valley seniors Krystle Mazza and Allison Tomasino. Mazza went a combined 3-for-6 with four stolen bases, four runs scored and two RBIs on Tuesday and she led the squad this year with 33 RBIs. She also set a school record with nine home runs this season. Tomasino was 3-for-6 and finished her career with 108 base knocks. She also scored four runs and stole three bases against Cairn.

The Aggie hit three home runs in the first inning, en route to a five-run stanza in the opener. Wear hit a two-run shot and Stacey followed for back-to-back round-trippers. Three batters late, Rachel Metz went deep for the second time this season, a two-run shot to left.

Delaware Valley then added three runs in the second, including a two-run double by Wear and an RBI single by Stacey. Stacey allowed just a one-out single to Kelly Hendrickson in the first inning and she fanned six in the opener.

The Aggies struck quickly again in the nightcap, this time with three runs in the first, including a two-run bomb by Wear. They added four tallies in the second with Mazza getting the big hit with a two-run single. Three Highlander errors led to three Delaware Valley runs in the third for the 10-0 lead.

Cairn avoided the shutout in the fourth and Hendrickson led off with a single, moved all to way to third on a base knock by Bridgid Shehan, and scored on a ground out by Kristen Hubler. Stacey permitted just one other hit in the game and struck out eight.
