Box Score 2 FORT MYERS (FL) – Delaware Valley College upped its winning streak to four and ended its Spring Break trip to Florida with a 5-3 record thanks to a pair of triumphs on Friday.
Allison Tomasino's walk-off triple in the bottom of the seventh gave the Aggies a 5-4 victory over Wheaton College and they followed with a 2-0 blanking of Wheaton College.
Delaware Valley jumped out to the lead in the third thanks to
Krystle Mazza's two-run blast to right-center field. It was the senior's fourth home run of the week, doubling her career total.
Rockford (2-7) made it 2-1 in the fourth, but the Aggies answered in the sixth with an RBI single by
Emily Gerhard. The Regents rallied in the top of the seventh and scored three times, including a two-run single by Jossilyn Jones for a 4-3 advantage.
In the bottom of the seventh, Mazza led off with a single and promptly stole second.
Whitney Stacey followed with a single up the middle to move Mazza to third. After an out,
Nina Stachura grounded out to second, but it was enough to plate Mazza and tie the game. Tomasino then ripped a ball down the left field line and Stacey came around the score the game-winner.
Mazzza, Tomasino and Stacey were each 2-for-4 and the trio combined for four runs scored and three RBIs.
Alexis Boucher picked up the win as she pitched the final three innings in relief of Gerhard.
Delaware Valley then faced a Wheaton team that was 7-0 heading into the contest.
Whitney Stacey (four innings and the win) and Gerhard (three innings and the save) held the Thunder to just three hits.
Tomasino helped put the Aggies on the board in the second as she singled, stole second and scored on an RBI single by
Emily Emig. It remained 1-0 until the sixth when
Tori Stachura led off with the stanza with a walk and then stole a base. She then scored when
Jackie Wear slashed a triple.
