DELVAL COMPETES AT HOME INVITATIONAL

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley College men's and women's cross country teams, under new head coach Larry Hannon, hosted its annual season-opening invitational on Saturday. The Aggie men placed ninth out of 15 teams while the women did not have enough runners compete to factor in the team scoring.

On the men's side, Jason Doll had the top finish for Delaware Valley as he placed 24th out of 120 runners with an 8K time of 30 minutes, 44.33 seconds. Andre McMillan placed 30th with a time of 31 minutes, 2.83 seconds while Chris Beard (31:52.32) and Matt Hoagland (35:33.40) were 42nd and 74th respectively.

Shelby Garner paced the Delaware Valley women as her 6K time of 26 minutes, 9.89 seconds was good enough for 14th place out of 134 competitors. Tracey Forsythe (28:07.32) took 39th while Stephanie Unger (29:35.48) and Dana Kilagriff (33:46.82) finished 67th and 102nd respectively.

Messiah College captured the men's team title while Philadelphia University took the women's crown.
