GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Delaware Valley men's and women's cross country teams had multiple runners set personal best times while the women's program tied the highest team finish in history at the NCAA Metro Regionals on Saturday.
The women's squad placed 17
th overall in the 25-team field with 492 points. Each member of the women's team recorded a personal-best 6K race time.
Emma East led the charge for the Aggies with a final time of 24:42.8 to place 73
rd. Linday Taylor also claimed a spot in the top 100 finishing 80
th with a time of 24:54.7.
Emma Haas,
Arianna Askew and
Kamella Gechter rounded out the point scorers for the Aggies. Haas was the third finisher for DelVal crossing the line at 25:55.3. Askew and Gechter followed with times of 26:25.5 and 26:31.5, respectively.
Samantha Swearingen and Alexis Anderson rounded out the field for the Aggies with times of 26:38.3 and 27:20.3, respectively.
The men's squad placed 21
st in the 26-team field tallying 602 team points.
Matthew Skikus led the charge finishing top 100 with at time of 27:57.8.
Jake Cammarota and
Isaac Boyer also recorded sub-30 times. Cammarota was the next to cross the line at 29:42.5 followed by Boyer at 29:59.3, both recording new 8K personal-best marks.
Brendan Forman and
Aidan Gallagher were the final two point-scorers for DelVal finishing just over 31 seconds for new personal best times. Forman clocked in at 30:41.4 while Gallagher clocked in at 30:46.9.
Caleb Messenger and
Jack Bisignano finished out the race for the Aggies. Messenger crossed the line at 31:14.9. Bisignano followed with a new career best of 32:50.9.
