WILKES-BARRE (PA) – Delaware Valley College moved into a three-way tie for the fourth and final Freedom Conference tournament spot thanks to a key, 3-1 road victory at Wilkes University. Set scores were 25-17, 27-25, 24-26 and 25-15.
The triumph improved the Aggies to 11-8 overall and 2-3 in the Freedom while the Lady Colonels fell to 7-14 and 2-3. The two are deadlocked with Misericordia University with each school having two conference matches remaining. Delaware Valley fell in straight sets to Misericordia earlier in the year while Wilkes downed Misericordia in five sets.
Delaware Valley registered a season-high 61 kills in the match with at least 14 in each set. Four players reached double digits in kills, including
Janel Gluch who led the way with 17 strikes.
Destinee Horning finished with 14 kills and four solo blocks while
Gina Page added 14 kills and 22 digs.
Alyssa Riggins had a double-double with 10 kills and 14 digs.
Crystal Ronan handed out 52 assists and dug out 16 balls.
Casey Bohan paced the Lady Colonels with a match-high 20 kills.
