DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley College volleyball team kickoff off its 2011 season with a 3-0 home victory over Penn State Brandywine. Set scores were 25-13, 25-7 and 25-11.

The Aggies jumped out to big leads in each set, including the opening stanza where they scored the first 12 points of the season. Six of those points came on service aces by freshman Crystal Ronan. Delaware Valley held a 13-3 advantage in the second set and notched seven straight points to open the third.

Alyssa Riggins led the way for the Aggies as she notched 10 kills and did not commit in errors in 16 attacks. She also added eight digs and four service aces. Fellow sophomore Janel Gluch finished with eight kills while freshman Gina Page added six kills and eight digs. Sophomore Destinee Horning had five kills and no errors in 15 attacks while also contributing 10 digs and two blocks. Ronan finished the evening with 24 assists and eight service aces.
