DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Penn State Berks rallied from an early deficit and recorded a 3-1, non-conference victory over host Delaware Valley College. Set scores were 23-25, 25-17, 25-21 and 25-23.
The win was the fifth in the last six matches for the Nittany Lions, who improved to 12-3 on the year. It was also the second time that they beat the Aggies as they posted a 3-1 triumph at their home tournament 12 days ago. Delaware Valley, which won on the road at Freedom Conference foe Manhattanville College last night, fell to 6-8 overall.
Amy Shelkton paced Penn State Berks with 16 kills and four blocks while Jerica Detsch added 15 kills and 11 digs. Rachel Sweeney finished with 12 kills while Glenda Ngo had 40 assists and 14 digs.
Delaware Valley received 13 kills apiece from
Janel Gluch and
Kaitlyn Olsen. Olsen also blocked four attacks.
Destinee Horning finished the evening with seven kills and nine digs while
Ashley Mikulsky and
Alyssa Riggins combined for 30 digs.
Amy Scordato dished out 34 assists in the loss.
