AGGIES SWEEP WILKES, MOVE INTO SECOND-PLACE TIE IN FREEDOM

WILKES-BARRE (PA) – Delaware Valley College moved into a four-way tie for second place in the Freedom Conference as the Aggies went up the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and notched a 3-0 victory at Wilkes University. Set scores were 25-11, 25-18 and 25-23.

Delaware Valley improved to 10-10 overall, but, more importantly 3-2 in the Freedom with just two league matches remaining. The Aggies are tied with Wilkes, FDU-Florham and Misericordia University behind conference leader and nationally-ranked Eastern University. Two-time conference runner-up DeSales University is a game behind the second-place squads and the top four teams advance to the postseason. Delaware Valley hosts Misericordia and Eastern down the stretch as it searches for its first playoff berth since the squad was the old MAC-Northeast Section regular-season champions in 1988.

Delaware Valley recorded 32 kills and had just five errors in 97 attacks for a .278 team hitting percentage. Ashley Mikulsky led the way with 10 kills and just one error in 22 attempts while Kaitlyn Olsen had nine kills and no errors in 23 attempts. Alyssa Riggins (17), Destinee Horning (16), Jen Keller (14) and Amy Scordato (11) each reached double figures in digs with Scordato also adding 31 assists.

The Lady Colonels (8-15 overall) were paced by Marissa Harrison's nine kills.
