ANNVILLE (PA) – Three Lebanon Valley College pitchers combined to allow just four hits on the afternoon as the Dutchmen earned a pair of 6-0 shutouts over visiting Delaware Valley College in non-conference action from Tuesday afternoon.
Lebanon Valley, last year's Commonwealth Conference champion, improved to 17-6 on the season. The losses dropped the Aggies back to the .500 mark at 8-8.
The opener saw the Dutchmen's Laura Snyder hurl a complete-game, two-hitter while striking out 13. The lone hits were singles by
Erin Fox as the freshman first baseman went 2-for-3 in the contest.
Lebanon Valley scored three runs apiece in both the first and second innings. The big blow was two-run homer by Allie Davies in the first inning. She finished 2-for-2 with three RBIs while Caitlin Keller went 1-for-3 and knocked in a pair of runs.
In the second game, Val Malizzia started for the Dutchmen and allowed one hit over three innings while striking out seven. Kristen Palmiero went the final four innings and notched the win as she permitted just one hit and fanned three.
Fox was 1-for-3 for Delaware Valley while
Nancy Kaufmann was 1-for-2. Keller hit a solo home run and was 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Davies went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs for Lebanon Valley.
