LANCASTER (PA) – The Delaware Valley College volleyball team improved to 3-1 on the season as it swept a tri-match at Lancaster Bible College. The Aggies took a 3-2 decision from the host Chargers and followed with a 3-1 triumph over Wesley College.
In the first match, Delaware Valley built a 2-0 lead with 25-20 and 25-20 scores, but Lancaster Bible rallied by taking the next two sets (25-18, 25-23). However, the Aggies pulled away to a 15-6 triumph in the fifth set to clinch the match.
Freshman Kaitlyn Olsen had 10 kills and no errors in 25 attacks. Fellow rookie Kelsey Fisher notched 10 kills while yet another freshman, Amy Estep, led the defensive charge with 25 digs. Sophomore Jaki Blood dished out 22 assists and served up seven aces.
The Wesley contest saw the Aggies go up 2-0 with 25-14 and 26-24 sets. The Wolverines took the third set, 25-18, but Delaware Valley put the match away with a 25-23 score in the fourth.
Olsen was dominant once again as she recorded 19 kills, including 10 in the first set. Estep had eight kills and 24 digs while Blood and Amy Scordato tallied 20 and 19 assists respectively.
