DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Misericordia University recorded its first-ever Freedom Conference win as the Cougars went on the road and earned a 3-0 victory over Delaware Valley College. Set scores were 25-21, 25-20 and 25-19.
Misercordia joined the conference this season and dropped its opening league match to King's College. The win over the Aggies improved the squad to 9-3 overall while Delaware Valley fell to 6-6 overall and 0-2 in the Freedom.
The first two sets were tied at 21-21 and 20-20 respectively before the Cougars notched the final points to take a 2-0 lead. They didn't trail in the third set and closed out the match with consecutive points.
Michelle DiCicco led Misericordia with seven kills while Rachel Hullinger added five. Megan Hotaling dished out 14 assists.
Kaitlyn Olsen had five kills and three blocks for the Aggies. Danielle Ford and Ashley Mikulsky notched four kills apiece with Mikulsky also adding 15 digs. Kate Klish had a match-high 23 digs while Jaki Blood notched 10 assists and 10 digs.
