ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's cross country team saw their second-best team finish of the season while the men placed seventh in the 10-team field at the Last Chance Run Fast Invitational marking the final race for the Aggies before the MAC Championships.
The women placed third overall in the five-team field scoring 52 total points in the 6K race.
Emma East led the group, placing fifth with a time of 25:25.2. The time marks her best career 6K time by nearly 13 seconds.
Lindsay Taylor snagged a spot in the top ten, crossing the line in 26:17.6 for ninth place overall. The sophomore also recorded a career-best mark by about six seconds. First-year
Eva Herrera followed close behind in 13
th place shaving nearly a minute off her previous best 6K time for a new career-best mark of 26:50.2.
Samantha Swearingen finished top 20 in 19
th place with a season-best time of 27:45.4.
Kamella Gechter rounded out the group in 22
nd also with a season-best mark, crossing the line at 28:50.3.
The men placed seventh overall in the 8K with a total of 157 points.
Matthew Skikus was the first point-scorer for the Aggies placing 13
th with a new career-best 8K time of 27:32.9, nearly a minute and 20 seconds quicker than his previous career-best set back in 2022.
Colton Del Collo was the next Aggie across the line clocking in at 29:39.7 to mark a new season best. He was joined by
Caleb Messenger in his first 8K of the season clocking in at 31:01.9.
Issac Boyer and
Jake Cammarota finished back-to-back. Both first years notched their fastest 8K times clocking in at 31:49.5 and 32:11.8, respectively.
William Hale and Aiden Gallagher rounded things out for the Aggies. Hale put up a new career-best 8K time recording a final mark of 38:41.1. First-year Gallagher finished his first collegiate 8K clocking in at 40:31.9.
The Aggies return to action next Saturday, Nov. 2 for the Middle Atlantic Championships at Messiah University with races set to go off beginning at 11 a.m.
