Aggies Win 5-4 Over Highlanders On The Road

LANGHORNE (Pa.) -- The Delaware Valley University women's tennis team snapped its four-match losing skid with a 5-4 victory at Cairn University on Tuesday afternoon.

There was a slight rain delay before the match, and each singles match was played as a pro-set to ensure all finished before dark.

The Aggies won four singles matches, lost one, and forfeited another. Aubrey Errickson competed at first singles and won, 8-3, and Allie Vaccaro earned an 8-4 triumph at second singles. Erin Volov dropped her pro-set at third singles, 8-6, but Miller Huertgen was perfect at fourth singles with an 8-0 win. At fifth singles, Nicki Fox triumphed with an 8-4 win.

The doubles team of Fox and Volov won at second doubles, 8-4, but Huertgen and Vaccaro were downed, 8-6, at first singles.

DelVal has two matches remaining on the schedule, both road conference bouts, beginning at FDU-Florham on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
