GWYNEDD VALLEY (Pa.) -- For the second time in less than two weeks, the Delaware Valley University women's tennis team came away victorious against the Gwynedd Mercy University Griffins as it claimed a 5-4 road victory Wednesday evening.
The Aggies (4-2) dropped their first two doubles matches, but bounced back at third doubles with an 8-3 win by
Lindsey Echelmeier and
Nicki Fox.
DelVal took four of the six singles matches including an impressive 8-0 win at first singles by
Aubrey Errickson. Allison Grzembeski earned a 7-3 win at third singles before darkness fell, and Echelmeier and Fox took care of business with 8-2 wins at fifth and sixth singles, respectively, to give the Aggies the match victory.
The next time DelVal takes to the court will be at the Middle Atlantic Conference individual championships in Wilkes-Barre this weekend. The two-day tournament begins on Saturday at Ralston Field Complex.
