DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) -- The Delaware Valley University women's tennis team won three singles matches, but could not secure any doubles victories as visiting Misericordia University came away with the 6-3 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom triumph.
The Cougars got their first conference win of the year and improved to 7-3 overall while the Aggies dropped to 4-3 overall and 0-1.
Aubrey Errickson competed for DelVal at first singles and was downed in three sets with all set scores ending 6-1.
Allie Vaccaro picked up a win at second singles with a 12-10 triumph in the tie-breaker.
Miller Huertgen and
Nicki Fox earned the other victories for the Aggies at fifth and sixth singles, respectively, as the squads split the singles results 3-3.
Misericordia used three wins and no losses at doubles to earn the 6-3 match difference. Huertgen and
Chloe Dennerlein paired up at second doubles for DelVal, but were defeated in a close match, 8-7.
Erin Volov and
Nicki Fox dropped their match, 8-6.
DelVal will return to the court on Wednesday, April 3 at Gwynedd Mercy University at 4:30 p.m.
