Box Score ABINGTON (Pa.) -- The Delaware Valley University men's tennis team competed for the second straight day, but dropped a 5-4 decision at Penn State Abington on Saturday afternoon.
Penn State won its first two matches against
Ryan Lombardo and Zach Harkcom, but
Nick Gaetano got the Aggies their first win of the day with a 6-2 and 6-1 match. Lombardo fell in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-0, and Harkcom the same.
Nick Princetta knotted the score at two wins apiece with an 11-9 victory in the tiebreaker set. He took the first set, 6-4 and dropped the second, 6-2.
Vince Rothbort fell in the fifth match of the day, 6-1 and 6-0, but Evan Augsburger knotted the score again with an 8-1 pro set victory over Penn State's Adam Moskal.
DelVal dropped two out of its three doubles matches. Junior
Nick Gaetano and senior Nick Princetta won 8-3. Lombardo and Harkcom fell by a score of 8-1 and Augsburger and Rothbort were overcome by a final of 8-2.
The Aggies return home for their match against Drew University at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, March 27.
