DelVal Cheerleaders Earn Bid To NCA College Nationals

PHILADELPHIA (PA) – For the first time in program history, the Delaware Valley University cheerleading team has earned a bid to the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) College Nationals.

The Aggies attended NCA commuter camp at St. Joe's University. Teams in attendance included Division I school such as the host Hawks, Drexel University, Rider University, and the Penn State University club squad. The purpose of the camp was to build skills in stunts, dance and chants, and an opportunity to win the silver bid to the NCA nationals which will be held in Daytona, Florida.

Each team had to perform a 45- second crowd segment cheer routine. They had to go through an evaluation round before the finals. DelVal edged out St. Joseph's to win the title and receive their first-ever to the NCA College Nationals.  During the camp, the Aggies also received a spirit stick and a superior blue ribbon for their crowd segment performance.

"NCA College Nationals is like the Super Bowl of cheerleading," DelVal head coach Devin Fergusson said. "It's a major accomplishment to have won a silver bid and have the opportunity to attend for the first time ever. I could not be more proud with this amazingly, talented team. They will go far and reach beyond their limits."
