DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley University had its final home match of the season and dropped a 9-0 decision to FDU-Florham in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom contest.
The Devils upped their record to 11-2 overall and 3-1 in the league while the Aggies fell to 3-13 and 0-5.
The match of the day for DelVal came at fifth singles where
Nick Gaetano won the first set, 6-3, over Chris Fiorenza. However, Fiorenza took the next two, 6-0, 6-4 for the three-set win.
Ryan Lombardo and
Alex Vo won three games in a straight set losses at fourth and sixth singles respectively. FDU-Florham picked up shutout victories at each of the top three singles' spot.
In doubles' competition, the top Aggie tandem of
Tyler Smith and
Zack Harkcom battled Max Moscowitz and Kevin Weller before falling 8-6. Vo and
Nicolas Princetta won two games at third doubles.
DelVal will wrap up its season at King's College on Saturday, April 21 (11 a.m.).
