DOYLESTOWN (PA) --
Alex Vo saved six match-points to win in overtime at sixth singles and highlight the Delaware Valley University men's tennis 4-3 victory over visiting Lancaster Bible College on Tuesday. Two of the matches did not finish due to darkness.
The Aggies earned their second consecutive win and improved to 3-7 overall while the Chargers fell to 0-4.
Vo won the first set of his match against Jimmy Hutchinson by a score of 6-1, but Hutchinson responded with a 6-3 victory in the second set, setting up the tie-breaker. Vo fought off six match points during the battle and eventually came out on top after a lengthy 19-17 tie-breaker set.
Tyler Smith and
Nick Gaetano earned the other DelVal wins in singles play. Smith, in his first match this season, defeated Ming Bowser in two sets, 6-1 and 6-2 at second singles. At fifth singles, Gaetano got passed Keven Vallette with scores of 7-5 and 6-4.
Gaetano and Vo earned the only doubles victory for the Aggies as the duo took down Kyle Heck and Jimmy Hutchinson, 8-6.
