BRYN ATHYN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's tennis team dropped just 11 games all day as the Aggies swept host Bryn Athyn College, 9-0.
The win improved DelVal to 2-7 while the Lions fell to 0-1.
The match started with doubles' action and it was
Natalie Hoffman and
Tess Hansler teaming for an 8-0 blanking at the first spot.
Melanie Mayhew and
Erin Volov notched an 8-1 victory at number two and
Laken Henry and
Allie Vaccaro came away with an 8-0 sweep at number three.
Singles' play saw dominance as well by the Aggies. Hoffman claimed a 6-3, 6-1 victory at number one while Vaccaro was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at number two. At three, it was Mayhew with a 6-0, 6-3 triumph. Henry and
Chloe Dennerlein were 6-0, 6-0 winners number four and number five respectively while
Nicki Fox ended the match with a 6-1, 6-1 score at number six singles.
DelVal will look to make it two in a row when its heads to Rosemont College on Monday, March 26.
