BRYN ATHYN (PA) – Delaware Valley University won four of the seven matches that took place, but it was Bryn Athyn College, thanks to two forfeits, that came away with the 5-4 win.
The Aggies (1-7) picked up three wins in singles' competition, two coming in three-set thrillers.
Nicolas Princetta dropped the first set at second singles, but came back for the 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 triumph. At the third spot, it was
Ryan Lombardo with a 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 victory. The other singles' triumph came at number four where
Nick Gaetano was a 6-2, 6-4 victor over Zach Brock.
In doubles' action, Gaetano and Princetta teamed for a 9-8 (7-5) triumph.
However, Bryn Athyn (2-0) was triumphant at first and fifth singles as well as first doubles. The Lions then got forfeits at sixth singles and third doubles for the 5-4 win.
DelVal will travel to Rosemont College on Monday, March 26.
