DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's tennis team had its final head-to-head match of the fall season on Thursday as the Aggies dropped an 8-1 home decision to Gwynedd Mercy University.

DelVal fell to 1-2 and will now prepare for the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Individual Championships on October 14 and 15. The win improved the Griffins to 2-2.

The Aggies' lone win came at number six singles from freshman Erin Volov as she downed Andrea Hernandez in straight sets (6-0, 6-3). Allie Vaccaro and Melanie Mayhem won four games apiece at second and third singles respectively.

In doubles action, Laken Henry and Nicki Fox went to a tiebreaker at the third spot, but fell 7-4 to Hernandez and Jenna Trythall. The second doubles' tandem of Vaccaro and Volov took four games in an 8-4 setback.
