DelVal Men's Tennis Takes 6-3, Home Decision Over Immaculata

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University men's tennis team won six of the seven matches that took place on Wednesday as the Aggies registered a 6-3 victory over visiting Immaculata University.
 
DelVal, which has three matches in the fall before a full slate in the spring, improved to 1-1 on the season while it was the season opener for the Mighty Macs.
 
The Aggies won four of the five singles' matches and both doubles' matches that hit the court (sixth singles and third doubles were forfeited to Immaculata). At second singles, junior Nicolas Princetta posted a 6-4, 6-1 triumph over Miranda Xavier Feliciano. Freshman Ryan Lombardo notched his first collegiate win as he took the first set, 7-6 (7-4 in the tiebreaker), and finished it off with a 6-2 score in the second over Paul McLaughlin.
 
Senior Pat Klingerman was dominant in a 6-1, 6-0 sweep of Michael Chartier at the fourth position. Then at fifth singles, it was junior Anthony Snyder with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Andrew Pisano.
 
In doubles' competition, Klingerman teamed up with junior Zack Harcom for an 8-1 triumph Feliciano and Dom Ramsden at the first spot. Lombardo and Princetta downed Charitier and McLaughlin, 8-2, at second doubles.    
 
Ramsden picked up the lone victory for Immaculata with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph over Harcom at first singles.
 
DelVal will host Albright College on Saturday, September 23 (1 p.m.).
