BETHLEHEM (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's tennis team opened the fall portion of its schedule with a 9-0 setback to host Moravian College.
The Aggies had six returnees and two freshmen in their lineup on Saturday. At first singles,
Natalie Hoffman dropped a 6-4, 6-1 decision to Emma Angle while
Allie Vaccaro had 6-3, 6-3 setback to Kristen Cassidy at second singles.
Melanie Mayhew took four games in a loss at third singles to Brooke Adams while rookie
Erin Volov won two games in a loss to Mary Angle at the fourth spot.
Laken Henry and
Chloe Dennerlein each dropped 6-2, 6-2 decisions in the remaining singles' matches.
Hoffman and Mayhew teamed up at first doubles in an 8-1 loss. Henry and Volov took two games at second doubles. At third doubles, the team of rookie
Nicki Fox and
Tess Hansler fell by an 8-1 result.
DelVal will host Albright College for a non-conference match on Saturday, September 23 (1 p.m.).
