DelVal Women's Tennis Suffers Home Setback To Misericordia

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley University split the singles competition, but fell by a 6-3 score to Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom foe Misericordia University.

The Aggies dropped to 3-6 overall and 0-3 in league action while the Cougars upped their marks to 3-3 and 2-0.

DelVal got its wins at number three, five and six singles. At number three, Melanie Mayhew triumphed 7-5, 6-1 over Amberlynn Habich. Laken Henry took care of Taylor Daton in three sets (4-6, 6-4, 10-7) at the fifth spot while Chloe Dennerlein dropped just two games in a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Morgan Gable at sixth singles.

The Aggies' three setbacks in singles action all came in three set matches. At first singles, Natalie Hoffman won a second-set tiebreaker to stay alive, but fell 6-4, 6-7, 6-0 to Cornelia Chmil. Allie Vaccaro fell 6-0, 1-6, 6-2 to Linsey Parks at second singles while Morgan Stanley had a 6-7, 6-2, 10-5 loss to Erika Slowicki at fourth singles.

???????Misericordia swept the three doubles matches and lost just a combined nine games in the eight-game pro sets for the 6-3 team win.

???????DelVal will travel to MAC Freedom foe Eastern University on Wednesday, April 12 (2:30 p.m.).
