DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University men's tennis team picked up its first two points of the year, but suffered a 7-2 home loss to Misericordia University in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom match.
The Aggies fell to 0-4 and 0-3 on the year while the Cougars improved to 2-4 and 1-1.
Ben Schweiger took part in both wins for DelVal as the senior and wrestling All-American dominated his number singles match with Trey Ziegler, 6-2, 6-0. Schweiger then teamed up with
Anthony Snyder for an 8-4 triumph over Ziegler and Greg Zotian at number three doubles.
Snyder,
Zack Harkcom and
Nicolas Princetta took three games apiece in their singles matches.
Harry Guenst won five in a 6-2, 6-3 setback to Murph Lynch at third singles.
Quinn Poirier took two games in his loss.
The Aggies will meet MAC Freedom foe Eastern University on the road on Wednesday, April 12 (2:30 p.m.).
