Aggie Men's Tennis Drops Spring Opener To Nine-Time Defending Conference Champ Wilkes

EDWARDSVILLE (PA) -- Nine-time defending Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom champion Wilkes University dropped just three games on the afternoon as the Colonels picked up the 9-0 win over Delaware Valley University in the Aggies' conference opener.
 
Wilkes is now 8-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play this year while DelVal dropped to 0-2 after its first match since the fall portion of the season.
 
The Aggies picked up their games at both first and fourth singles and first doubles. At first singles, Zack Harkcom lost 6-1, 6-0 to Artyom Nabokin while Quinn Portier fell to Gabriel Velez by the same count.
 
In doubles, the DelVal tandem of Harckom and Harry Guenst picked up a game in an 8-1 setback to Nabokin and Andrew Neidig.
 
The Aggies will take to the court again on Wednesday, April 5 when they host MAC Freedom foe DeSales University at 3 p.m.
