DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's tennis team opened the fall portion of its 2016-17 season with a 7-2 home setback to Immaculata University on Thursday.
It was the first match for the Aggies under new head coach
Jason Toedter. The two wins from DelVal came from new players as well as freshman
Chloe Dennerlein registered a 6-4, 6-1 triumph over Susan Callahan at fourth singles. Meanwhile, junior Tina Lokai, a late addition to the roster, upended Timesha Smith, 6-3 and 6-2, at sixth singles.
Allie Vaccaro took five games for DelVal at second singles. She also teamed up with
Natalie Hoffman to win three games at number one doubles. Lokai and
Laken Henry dropped an 8-3 decision at second doubles while Dennerlein and
Montana Stump won four games in an 8-4 setback at third doubles.
DelVal will travel to Neumann University on Thursday, September 15 (4 p.m.).
