IMMACULATA (PA) – Delaware Valley University sophomore
Taylor Boyer scored in the 57
th minute to give the Aggie women's soccer team its first victory of the season, 1-0, at Immaculata University on Tuesday.
DelVal is now 1-1 on the young campaign while the Mighty Macs dropped to 0-3.
Immaculata outshot the Aggies by a 17-10 margin and held DelVal without a corner kick in the contest but sophomore goalkeeper
Emily Schukraft kept the Mighty Macs off the scoreboard, making nine saves for the shutout.
Boyer found the back of the net with 33:20 remaining in the second half. She shot the ball off of the post and into the left corner of the goal.
Goalkeeper Sarah Roselli stopped six shots for Immaculata.
Next, Delaware Valley faces Muhlenberg College in the first round of the Arcadia University Tournament on Saturday, September 10 (3:00 p.m.).
