Albright Tops DelVal Women's Soccer, 2-1 With Late Goal

Box Score

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Natalie Wilson scored with 4:13 remaining to give visiting Albright College a 2-1 victory over the Delaware Valley University women's soccer team on Saturday night.

The Aggies dropped to 2-5-1 on the season while the Lions improved to 6-3.

DelVal held strong throughout the contest, despite being outshot by a 22-5 margin. Sophomore goalkeeper Emily Schukraft made 11 saves and helped keep the Aggies in the game.

Delaware Valley finally broke through for a goal in the 75th minute. Junior Somer Meadath sent a free kick from 60 yards out into the box. Albright keeper Alexis Tunney tried to corral the ball but it came loose. Senior Karla Keler picked it up and deposited into the net to tie the score at one.

The teams looked like they would head to overtime but Morgan Valera deflected a ball in the DelVal box right to Wilson, who tipped it into the left side of the goal for the deciding tally.

Albright got on the board first in the 40th minute when Emily Mollica converted a penalty kick.

Tunney was credited with the win, making one save in the second half. Starter Payton Bogatch played the first half.

The Aggies host Washington College (MD) on Wednesday, September 28 (7:00 p.m.).
