ROSEMONT (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's tennis team went back over the .500 mark as the Aggies went on the road and defeated Rosemont College, 7-2, in a non-conference match.
DelVal, under first-year head coach
Jason Toedter, improved to 3-2 in the fall portion of its schedule. The Ravens fell to 0-5.
The Aggies won all seven spots that they competed in (they defaulted at sixth singles and third doubles). They lost just four games in singles play and two in doubles competition.
Natalie Hoffman won 6-2, 6-2 at first singles while
Allie Vaccaro blanked Charli Fillmore, 6-0, 6-0, at second singles. The two then teamed up for an 8-2 triumph at first doubles.
Laken Henry earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number three singles and
Chloe Dennerlein had a 6-0, 6-0 win at fourth singles.
Montana Stump also recorded a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at fifth singles. Henry and Dennerlein teamed for an 8-0 blanking at second doubles.
DelVal will look to go 4-2 for the first time in the three-year history of the program when it travels to Hood College on Saturday, October 1 (1 p.m.).
