DOYLESTOWN (PA) –
Tina Lokai picked up the lone win for Delaware Valley University as the Aggie women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to local powerhouse Gwynedd Mercy University on Tuesday.
DelVal saw its record drop to 2-2 while the Griffins, who are the two-time defending Colonial State Athletic Conference (CSAC) champions and have seven conference crowns to their credit, remained perfect at 5-0 on the year.
Lokai, a late addition to the roster, remained undefeated in singles play as she blanked Amanda Gentry, 6-0, 6-0 at the number six spot. Lokai and
Montana Stump teamed up for third doubles and notched five games in an 8-5 setback.
Laken Henry and
Chloe Dennerlein dropped an 8-2 decision at second doubles.
Gwynedd Mercy dominated the remaining six spots – five singles and one doubles – as it dropped just four games.
DelVal returns to action tomorrow when it travels to Rosemont College for a non-conference match.
