RADNOR (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's soccer team fell into a three-goal hole in the first half and could not recover in a 3-1 non-conference loss at Cabrini University on Tuesday.
The Aggies dropped to 2-4-1 overall while the Cavaliers picked up their first victory and are now 1-5 on the year.
The Cabrini defense limited DelVal to just one shot in the first half and capitalized on the other end of the field, potting three goals in the first 45 minutes. Katelyn Gilinger and Alex Garces scored just 1:06 apart for the opening two markers. Meghan Horn headed the ball over the goalkeeper into the goal mouth and Gilinger finished the play in the 26
th minute. Then, Gilinger found Garces with a pass, whose shot went off the inside of the post and into the net.
The third tally from the Cavaliers came in the 34
th minute. Gilinger dribbled the ball around a defender before beating the goalkeeper.

Karla Keler ruined Cabrini's shutout bid when she converted a penalty kick in the 78
th minute. Sophomore
Emily Schukraft stopped five shots in the DelVal goal.
Gabby LeGendre made two saves for the Cavaliers.
The Aggies return home for the first time in over three weeks to host Albright College on Saturday, September 24 (6:00 p.m.).
