Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Drew University's Audrey Carr scored with 9:28 remaining in the second overtime to give the Rangers a 2-1 victory over host Delaware Valley University in a non-conference game.
The win improved Drew to 2-4 on the season while the Aggies fell to 2-5.
The Rangers moved the ball into the circle and Carr got control of it right in front of DelVal goalkeeper
Rosie Bishop. Bishop stopped Carr's first attempt, but the forward was able to slide the second opportunity under the pads and in the goal for the game winner.
The Aggies got off to a fast start as they scored just 66 seconds in.
Carlie Baldus sent a pass from the right side into the circle.
Sierra Stine was there to receive the pass and she put a shot past Drew goalkeeper Ryann Callaghan for her first goal of the season.
Drew tied it up with 18:59 left in the first half as Madi Sheetz got to a deflected ball near the top of the circle and blasted one into the top right corner. It stayed 1-1 until Carr's heroics in the second overtime.
DelVal controlled the play on the afternoon as it outshot the Rangers, 24-12, and also held a 12-3 advantage in corners. Nineteen of the shots for the Aggies came in the second half and the two overtime periods. Callaghan recorded 14 saves for Drew while Bishop was credited with six saves for the Aggies.
DelVal will travel to Widener University for a non-conference game on Wednesday, September 21 (7 p.m.).
