Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Krista LaMaina recorded a hat trick while twin sister Shauna LaMaina added a goal and an assist to lift undefeated Kean University to a 4-1, non-conference win over host Delaware Valley University.
The Cougars raised their mark to a perfect 6-0 while the Aggies dropped to 2-4.
Kean scored a pair of goals in a four-minute span to take a 2-0, first-half lead. Shauna LaMaina got the first one with 13:41 to go as she pounced on a rebound off a Jenna Patrone shot and put it in the cage. Shortly after, she set up Krista LaMaina with a beautiful feed in front and Krista MaMaina put it up high for the tally.
DelVal got its first shot of the half with 7:07 left, but made the most of it as
Carlie Baldus took a pass from
Alexa Aguilar off a corner opportunity and blasted it into the low right corner for her fourth goal of the year.
The Cougars regained a two-goal lead less than two minutes later as Krista LaMaina deflected in a Jordan Colna shot. The two teamed up for the same result with 6:58 to go in the contest for the 4-1 final.
Kean held a 20-3 advantage in both shots and corners. Freshman
Rosie Bishop was credited with five saves for the Aggies, who host Drew University for a non-conference game on Saturday, September 17 (1 p.m.).
