FROSTBURG (MD) – The Delaware Valley University field hockey team posted its second straight shutout with a 1-0 victory over the host Bobcats in the championship game of the Frostburg State University Tournament on Sunday.
The Aggies improved to 2-3 on the year while the Bobcats dropped to 1-2. Earlier in the day, Ohio Wesleyan University had a 2-1 win over Randolph-Macon College in the consolation game.
Junior
Carlie Baldus scored the winning goal with 16:38 remaining in the second half with an assist from senior
Cecelia Lounsberry. It was Baldus's team-leading third goal of the season.
Freshman
Rosie Bishop had a clean sheet for the second consecutive contest, making four saves in the DelVal goal.
Frostburg State goalkeeper Jacqueline Gover stopped two shots. The Bobcats had a 10-5 shot advantage and a 13-4 edge in penalty corners but could not find the back of the cage.
The Aggies return home to face Kean University on Wednesday, September 14 (7:00 p.m.).
