Box Score GLENSIDE (PA) –
Karla Keler scored her first goal of the season and
Emily Schukraft stopped a career-high 17 shots as Delaware Valley University and Marywood University played to a 1-1, double-overtime tie in the consolation game of the Arcadia University Invitational.
The draw moved the Aggies' record to 1-2-1 while the Pacers moved to 0-3-1 on the young season.
It was Marywood that struck first with 25:07 left in the opening half as it had a 2-on-1 opportunity and Megan Swiecicki scored from six yards out off a feed from Jacki VonItter.
However, Keler evened things up with just 5:55 remaining in the half. The senior took a pass from
Jennifer Wood and lofted a shot over the goalkeeper's head from 25 yards out.
The teams were close over the remaining 50-plus minutes of regulation as the Pacers edged the Aggies in shots, 10-7. Marywood controlled play in both overtimes, registering nine shots and not allowing an attempt by DelVal. Schukraft made four of her saves in the extra stanza, including one with just 1:46 remaining. Her 17 stops topped her previous high of 15 set in Saturday's loss to Muhlenberg College in the opening round of the invitational.
The Aggies will travel to Gwynedd Mercy University for a non-conference game on Wednesday, September 14 (6 p.m.).
