Box Score JERSEY CITY (NJ) – Ayleen Pittar notched 14 kills as host New Jersey City University notched a 3-0 victory over Delaware Valley University to spoil the head coaching debut of Hugh Williams. Set scores were 25-18, 25-23 and 25-12.
 
Williams served as an assistant for the Aggies last year before getting the top job this summer. His squad got off to a slow start in the opening set as the Gothic Knight had a 12-5 advantage in kills. In the second set, DelVal held a 21-15 lead, but New Jersey City rallied for 10 of the last 12 points to take the game. It was all Gothic Knights in the third as they completed the sweep.
 
Pittar had just one error in 28 attack attempts. She also added 11 digs. Elyssa Magee finished with eight kills while Rachel McIntyre handed out 35 assists.
 
For the Aggies, sophomore Kayla Bracken led the way with five kills while junior Taylor Klecan and freshman Kate Woolsey had four kills apiece. The trio also combined for 22 digs and five service aces. Nicole Daigneault notched 14 assists.
 
DelVal will head to the Haverford Invitational for four matches over a two-day period beginning with a contest against Marymount University on Saturday, September 3 (11 a.m.).
