DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Penn State Harrisburg freshman Kali Edwards scored with 7:18 remaining in the second overtime period to spoil the season opener for the Delaware Valley University women's soccer team as the Lions defeated the Aggies, 2-1.
Edwards took a shot from 20 yards out that deflected off the goalkeeper's hand and the left post before finding its way into the goal. It was a sour ending for the Aggies, who controlled play for the majority of the contest finishing with a 13-12 advantage in shots and a 6-4 margin in corner kicks.

Kylie Williams put DelVal ahead with just 30 seconds to play in the first half. She received a pass from senior
Ashley Keebler and spun around to fire a shot from 25 yards that just eluded the goalkeeper's outstretched arm.
The Lions got even with 20:02 left in the second stanza. Junior Kylie Courtney sent a cross through the box that was found by freshman Madison Hemler, who headed the ball into the net.
Sophomore Erica Jensen earned the win in relief of starter Daniella Marroquin, who finished with three saves. Jensen stopped five shots. Sophomore
Emily Schukraft made four saves for the Aggies.
DelVal hits the road for six straight contests, beginning at Immaculata University on Tuesday, September 6 (4:00 p.m.).
