Box Score READING (PA) – The Delaware Valley University field hockey team opened its 2016 season with a 2-0, non-conference setback at Albright College on Thursday.
The Lions registered the first seven shots on goal and Aggie freshman keeper
Rosie Bishop was there to stop them all. DelVal bounced back with the final four shots of the opening half, but none of them found the cage as the stanza ended scoreless.
Albright got on the board 13:39 into the second half as the Lions had a corner opportunity and the second shot found its way in off the stick of Kasey Neiderer. The Aggies tried to even it up, but Albright got an insurance tally from Tracy Snyder with just 6:16 remaining
The Lions finished with a 13-6 advantage in shots and a 9-3 advantage in corners. Bishop finished with eight saves in her collegiate debut while Aileen Taylor had two stops for the shutouts for Albright.
DelVal travels to Neumann University for a non-conference game on Saturday, September 3 (11 a.m.).
