DALLAS (PA) – The Delaware Valley University men's lacrosse team wrapped up the regular season with an 11-7 setback at Misericordia University in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom game on Saturday.
The Aggies are 8-7 overall and finished conference play at 4-3. DelVal already had a spot in the MAC Freedom playoffs locked up entering the contest but the Cougars needed a victory to continue their season. They came through and now have a 9-6 record with a 4-3 MAC Freedom mark.
Delaware Valley, Misericordia and FDU-Florham all finished tied for third in the standings with a 4-3 record. With the teams having beaten one another and with all of their other losses coming to the same schools, the third tiebreaker was goal differential in games between the three. Misericordia came out on top with a +3 followed by DelVal with an even 0 and FDU-Florham with a -3. That outcome gave the Cougars the third seed and they will visit second-seeded DeSales University on Wednesday, May 4 in the semifinals.
With the Aggies and Devils remaining, the tiebreakers began anew with the head-to-head result. DelVal defeated FDU-Florham 12-8 on April 9 and, therefore, are the fourth seed in the conference tournament. The Aggies will travel to the top seed Eastern University on Wednesday, May 4. Game time is 4:00 p.m. The semifinal winners meet at the highest remaining seed on Saturday, May 7 with the victor earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Each team potted a goal in the third quarter and the Misericordia defense was able to keep the Aggies at arm's length in the fourth. Sophomore
