DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Eight-time defending Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom champion Wilkes University dropped just three games on the afternoon as the Colonels picked up the 9-0 road win over Delaware Valley University in the Aggies' season finale.
Wilkes finished the regular season with a 20-2 overall record and a perfect 5-0 mark in conference play while DelVal's second year since resuming intercollegiate play (the men's tennis program existed until the 1960s) ended with a 1-10 overall record and an 0-5 mark in the MAC Freedom.
The Aggies picked up their games at fourth singles and both first and second doubles. At fourth singles,
Josh Richardson lost 6-1, 6-0 to Gabriel Velez. The DelVal to doubles tandem of
Colin Evoy and
Jase Shakun picked up a win in an 8-1 setback to Andrew Neidig and Jonathan White while
Nicolas Princetta and
Harry Guenst had the same result at the second spot to the Colonels' Brian Murray and Braddock Chow.
Wilkes picked up 6-0, 6-0 triumphs at each of the first three singles spots. DelVal forfeited the fifth and sixth singles positions as well as third doubles.
