DOYLESTOWN (PA) – It was a dominating performance by the Delaware Valley University women's tennis team on Sunday as the Aggies lost just a total of five games, en route to a 9-0 home triumph over Bryn Athyn College.
DelVal, in just its second year as an intercollegiate program, improved to 7-9 on the season while the Lions fell to 1-5.
There were a trio of shutout victories in singles play as
Natalie Hoffman (second singles),
Alexandra Vaccaro (third singles) and
Susan Noppert (sixth singles) each won by 6-0, 6-0 scores.
Melanie Mayhew registered a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number one singles while
Laken Henry had a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at fourth singles.
Magen Moore added a 6-0, 6-1 win at the fifth spot.
In doubles action, Mayhew and Hoffman teamed up for an 8-1 triumph over Sydney Elder and Catherine Kirk while Henry and Vaccaro had the same score at the second position over Kelsey Kowalick and Natalie Monague. Moore and Noppert earned an 8-0 blanking over Brittany Vick and Alexus Kolb at third doubles.
The Aggies will travel to Misericordia University for a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom match on Tuesday, April 19.
