WILKES-BARRE (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's tennis team dropped its Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom match at King's College, 9-0 on Saturday.
The Aggies are 6-9 overall and 0-2 in the conference. The Lady Monarchs have a 4-7 record with a 1-2 MAC Freedom mark.
Sophomore
Melanie Mayhew suffered a 6-0, 6-0 loss at first singles. Sophomore
Natalie Hoffman fell 6-3, 6-2 at second singles and freshman
Alexandra Vaccaro had a 6-0, 6-2 setback. At fourth singles, sophomore
Laken Henry came out on the wrong end of a 6-0, 6-1 score. Seniors
Magen Moore and
Emilyann Maialetti had losses of 6-2, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-0 at fifth and sixth singles respectively.
Mayhew/Maialetti and Henry/Vaccaro were defeated by identical 8-0 scores at first and second doubles. Hoffman and Moore teamed up at third doubles and had an 8-3 setback.
Next, DelVal hosts Bryn Athyn College for a non-conference match on Sunday, April 17 (1:00 p.m.).
