BRYN ATHYN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's tennis team routed Bryn Athyn College, 8-1 in a non-conference match on Monday.
The Aggies are 6-8 on the year while the Lions have a 1-3 record.
Freshman
Alexandra Vaccaro won her fourth straight singles match and it was her fifth victory in her last six outings. She did not lose a game en route to a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at second singles. Sophomore
Laken Henry also had little trouble at third singles, winning by a 6-1, 6-0 margin.
Seniors
Magen Moore and
Emilyann Maialetti and sophomore
Tess Hansler also produced wins in singles matchups. Moore was a 6-0, 6-2 victor at fourth singles while Hansler played at fifth singles and produced a 6-1, 6-0 decision. Maialetti posted a 6-0, 6-1 win at sixth singles.
In doubles competition, sophomore
Melanie Mayhew and Hansler teamed up to win 8-2 in the first match. Henry/Vaccaro also had an 8-2 victory while Maialetti/Moore provided a shutout at third doubles, 8-0.
Next, Delaware Valley visits King's College for a conference match on Saturday, April 16 (11:30 a.m.).
