Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision in its season finale to regional power and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom foe Misericordia University.
The Cougars, who are seventh in the latest NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region rankings, won for the 15
th time in 18 tries this season. They went 7-0 in conference play and will be the top seed in the upcoming tournament.
The Aggies, who celebrated Senior Day and honored their quartet of four-year players –
Kayley Erla,
Nicole Fanfarillo,
Ashley Keebler and
Karla Keler – ended the year with a 3-13-1 overall record and a 1-6 mark in the MAC Freedom.
Misericordia pounded out 36 shots in the contest, including 19 in the first half. Two of the 19 found their way into the net as Alex Gallagher and Jacqueline Stevens scored just two minutes apart. Stevens then set up Gallagher for a goal in the 23
rd minutes and notched her second tally of the game in the 35
th minute. Robin Erb scored the lone goal of the second half with 15:20 remaining.
Emily Schukraft recorded 14 saves for DelVal in the loss. Alyssa Pojero got the shutout for the Cougars.
