Aggie Women's Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision At King's

Box Score WILKES-BARRE (PA) – Allison Andrew's second-half goal was the lone tally of the game as host King's College edged Delaware Valley University, 1-0, in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom action from Tuesday.

The Monarchs improved to 5-8 overall and 2-3 in the conference while the Aggies slipped to 3-11-1 and 1-4.

The two teams combined for just four shots in the opening 45 minutes. King's then had two of the first three attempts to start the second half, but the game was still scoreless heading into the 61st minute. Then with 29:19 remaining, Savannah Tucker sent a short cross from the right wing into the middle of the box and Andrew was there for the one-timer from about eight yards out.

The Monarchs kept the pressure on for an insurance goal, but DelVal goalkeeper Emily Schukraft had five saves the rest of the way. Meanwhile, the Aggies managed three shots, the last coming with just 1:04 remaining. However, Kyle Williams' game-tying attempt went wide to the right and King's came away with the win.

Williams had three of DelVal's five shots in the contest. Schukraft finished with eight saves. Jess Schenfeld had one stop and picked up the shutout for the Monarchs.

The Aggies will return to MAC Freedom play on Saturday, October 22 (2:30 p.m.) when they travel to Manhattanville College.
