DelVal Women's Soccer Falls To DeSales, 2-0

Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Angelica Bertola and Danni Engwall each had a goal and an assist to lead DeSales University to a 2-0, Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom victory over Delaware Valley University on the Aggies' Homecoming.

The Bulldogs improved to 8-6 overall and stayed tied atop the conference standings with a 4-0 league mark. DelVal dropped to 3-10-1 and 1-3.

The DeSales duo combined for the first goal 14:08 into the contest. Bertola touched a pass to Engwall, who connected inside the far post from 18 yards out. It remained 1-0 for more than 47 minutes before Engwall sent a thru pass to Bertola for a breakaway. Bertola beat Aggie goalkeeper Emily Schukraft for the second and final goal of the contest.

The Bulldogs held a 19-2 advantage in shots with DelVal getting three of the game's four corner kicks. Schukraft had six saves in the setback while Haley Jacobs was credited with one save and the shutout.

The Aggies will return to action on Tuesday, October 18 (5 p.m.) when they travel to King's College for a MAC Freedom game.
